CPP rear shock crossmember

Good evening,
I've had to cut out my stock rear shock cross member because it was cracked and PO made an attempt at welding it. Bought the CPP one after cutting it out but now wondering if I have to reuse the stock upper coil pad that was riveted. Just wondering if frame along with the crossmember bracing enough to support. Appreciate any input.

Sorry about pic being upside down

I dont think so, since the CPP crossmember adds a plate of steel to the frame as well.
