Re: 1965 C10 Long Stepside

I was able to get the engine out and have been busy getting it cleaned up and painted. I picked up the seat and from the upholstery shop. I'm very pleased with the results. The vinyl is original to 1964 Chevelles but the cloth is from 2009 Ford F150 pickups. Now to get the engine back in and running. then on to the interior.

Re: 1965 C10 Long Stepside

Been awhile since I updated this, but I have the 65 tagged and insured. Engine has been resealed and painted, all lights are working and I was able to take it on it's first for me drive this evening. Truck ran great and I had no problems at all. I will post some photos in a day or two. I still have some things I want to do to it yet, like have new dual exhaust put on, and a pair of three point seat belts. It has some old pipes that I had laying around on it right now.

Re: 1965 C10 Long Stepside

Here are some recent photos. I put about 30 miles on it this morning, it's been about 25 years since I drove one of these old trucks with the sm420 transmission. I've really gotten used to the comforts of the newer Chevy and GMC trucks.

Here are some of the old 283 after being cleaned, resealed and painted.
