Fastenal shipping zones

Not sure if this has already been brought up but Fastenal is not shipping between their east and west zones due to covid.

Maybe limiting drivers to a distance from a hub that they can drive to and get back without needing to stop, (hours driven/dot) and/or end up at a motel.
There has to be a logical reason for it.
I would think, keeping drivers from spending nights in a hotel/motel. Would be a good move till this mess is over.

Re: Fastenal shipping zones

The size of the zones are large enough that they must have to relay from hub to hub to get back home daily. So why not relay across the 'big divide'?

Who knows, maybe those routes, used to have 2 drivers in a cab, So once one had to stop because of DOT, the other took over and because of covid, they can't have 2 in the cab.
Only fastenal know the reasoning it be interesting to hear what it is, though.

Maybe its left-hand thread area vs right hand thread area. OK, I am bad, I will leave. I have no idea either.

Re: Fastenal shipping zones

I have no idea, either, but whatever the reason it isn't stopping any other shippers from crossing that line. That's my only point

Re: Fastenal shipping zones

I think I'm going to drive my pickup out to that line and drive packages back and forth between light blue and dark blue all day long. Pick it up from one Fastenal driver, across the county line and hand it off to another one.
