Re: Wood bed kits

Classic Parts of America sells them. I bought my Oak and Stainless strips and hardware from them and I was very happy with the quality. Remember that most if not all of these supply places sell the wood planks unfinished. I used Watco Teak oil for the stain and Man O' War Marine Spar Varnish for the finish. Steel wooled the wood between each coat. Came out real good. Now I can't throw garbage and old truck parts in the back of my truck anymore.

Thanks.....its not too extremely hard....but it is quite time consuming, though I'm sure I could save a few hours the next time around.....I probably had 5 or 6 days of labor in it......not including the stain & varnish....that took another 8 hours or so....but over the course of a week as I applied several coats and sanded in between coats....

No...I believe all Kits come with unfinished wood....Not sure about the rear tank filler but I would guess that you would need to locate yours yourself...as they are all mounted a little bit differently on each truck....

Re: Wood bed kits

We've used 2 Mar-K kits now, very happy with the quality of their parts, there may be some a hair cheaper, but Mar-k has nice stuff. Sometimes they offer free shipping, and/or 10 percent off if yoouu catch a sale, the shipping can add up on bigger stuff like that.
