Hello , need some advice on 91 chevy stepside
Hello all , First off i own a 91 stepside short wheel base c1500 that i plan on restoring it completely eventually and have a couple questions. It has some surface rust on the frame that i want to get rid of and paint it back the original black, I noticed when i removed the front bumper that the truck must have been wrecked because the frame rail on one side is not uniform with the other and the truck sits a tad higher on that side not bad tho but its not correct. I was wandering if it be worth it to find a 95 or so frame in the junk yard somewhere that is in descent shape and just redo it and swap it out with mine at a later date , anyone could give me advice on this would be appreciated? also the front part of the frame is boxed in so removing rust inside of it i was thinking would be kinda tuff , any advice on that as well would help me alot.
Thanks a bunch |

I'd take it to a reputable collision repair shop and have them look it over. They can easily tell you if there is significant frame damage or not. There are thousands of these trucks in the salvage yards these days if it needs a replacement frame.
