If you still have it apart clean or replace the little screen under the oil pressure sensor. $5.00 from the dealer. It will never be easier to get at.

My daughter has an 08 5.3 and was experiencing loss of oil pressure at the gauge but if you shut it off and restarted the pressure went back up for a while then dropped again. The fine mesh screen was getting clogged under pressure and give the false reading. She is pretty faithful with oil changes too. Anyway a lot easier to get at with the cab off.
