Need some help

So its been awhile since I've been on here, but Ive gained so much from all of you, thank you. I got my truck all put back together and up and running. I drove it for about 2 months until I passed a car one day. When I got around the car the truck wouldnt go over 25mph and it would bog down when I gave it gas. Not sure what happened, it will start but sounds like its only running on about 3 cylinders... I do know that the ceramic manifold gaskets were crushed, if that would make a difference? Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks guys.

Don't know all you had to put back together. But check loose plug wire or bad plug wires, fuel delivery / fuel filter / fuel pump or maybe bad fuel.

Re: Need some help

I'd second the above, but if all of that checks out, check your plugs to make sure they aren't fouled. If they're black, change them and look into your carb being rejetted or tuned better.

Or, you might be losing your ignition source. If you still have points, they may need replacing, or the coil might be losing it's ability to fire. Probably not as likely, but still worth looking into if none of the above fixes your problems.

Re: Need some help

This sounds real familiar. I had a real strong 327 in one of my old trucks that round town driving it felt fine. Out on the highway it was ok until I needed to get around someone. Then it fell on its face. 4 barrels open and going nowhere fast. It got worse in town. I found the centrifugal advance in the distributor had seized up. I removed it and broke it all down and give it a good cleaning. All power was restored. All it cost was time. maybe yours is so easy
