EXTREMELY important information just released for ANYONE running a carb spacer!!!

It's with sad news that the R&D team and HP Carburetors has to announce that they won't be seeking a patent on their "MONO-RAM". We are very disappointed with our findings. We cannot get it to idle, there is an awful hesitation when you mash the throttle and it doesn't really start to come in until about 8,500 rpm.

We will be talking with Matt Lauer on the Today Show in the morning. Very sad.....

Now that's damn funny Oh wait you're missing the bolts could that be the problem? But finding 14" bolts can't be easy.

I took them out just before the pics. It's called 24" of all thread! lol

I have 6 more spacers on order from Summit. Maybe that's the ticket.

You wouldn't happen to be trying to make people think you have a supercharger under the hood would you when they see the air cleaner sticking up through the hood?

Did you try adjusting it for higher altitude?

That's a good one. AT the LA Roadster show this past weekend there was an old torker with 4 spacers welded on it at the swap meet. Lot's of finger pointing.

Are you talking about the MONO-RAM or the truck in the background?

We actually had one in the works for the SBC called the "MINI-MONO"

The carb is a 750 HP. I tried jetting it down to a 650, a 600 and then a 390 but it didn't change the results. You can change the cfm with jetting right?

Maybe a MonoJet (1-bbl) would be better....

Those people in the backwoods of the northwest, do things a little different than the rest of the country! Are you building a new engine, so your truck will do a burnout!? LOL!
How are things in Holleyville prostreet?

Re: EXTREMELY important information just released for ANYONE running a carb spacer!!!

You need a gasket between each spacer for it to work properly.

Re: EXTREMELY important information just released for ANYONE running a carb spacer!!!

Nice try Zepp.....I use high temp blue RVT on all my carb builds. It makes it so I don't have to machine the bases to get them flat. It spreads nice to fill in all the highs and lows.

I commend you on your use of RTV on all of the above spacers, very clean job. I do not see any squeezed out.

Re: EXTREMELY important information just released for ANYONE running a carb spacer!!!

The best way to run the Mono-Ram is by alternating "open" spacers with "4 hole" spacers. It creates a velocity of over 1,500mph into the cylinders. But you have to run a cast iron air cleaner. It will suck "normal" air cleaners right down the throat of the carb.

It's obvious that you just need one more spacer and that will do the trick.

I wish I knew you were doing that. Lokar built me a one off 6' throttle cable and was keeping the mold for when this thing blows-up and goes international.

Turp you surface at the craziest times! That motor is going into my Camaro bracket car I'm building. It's going to be used 90% of the time to test my Holleys but I do want to see what she'll do in the 1/8th mile. I call it a bracket car because it's gutted and the only thing street legal on it is it has brake lights (or will).

It's going to be funny when I try to use your name as an excuse to the cop for getting out of the 100 yrd burnout ticket!
