Looking for recommendations for 4X4 specialist in Asheville, NC

My 72 K20 was extensively gone through and refreshed/rebuilt years before I bought it but went a long time without active use. I'm not sure that the 4WD is working properly and want to get it checked out.

Anybody have anything good or bad to say about shops in Asheville?

don't know about Asheville...I'm sure there's an abundance of Subaru shops there. The stuff on the early trucks is pretty resilient with the 205 case and hopefully Spicer hubs so if it works I'd say you're all good and wouldn't worry a bit.
