NEW (to me) 1954 3100 1/2

HHHMMMM Thinking of a MII front also. Any input as to 454 in this? I am aware of 9-10mpg ect BUT as a ex drag racer I loved my 454s. TORQUE!!!! constructive input PLEASE. resale value affected? good or bad?

Yeahhhh, it's a totally bad idea to put a fat motor in that truck. I'd say that the best thing you could do with it is sell it to me and put that fat motor in something else.

I say do what makes you happy. As far as resale I'm not sure. Some guys like original and some like modified. So 6 to some, half dozen to others.....

Re: NEW (to me) 1954 3100 1/2

There's a snowball in the making if I ever saw one. "Change out the engine and trans.", then beef up the front end to carry the extra weight, then a heavy open driveshaft rear end, better shocks all around, beefier brakes to stop everything, may as well go with power brakes, and steering, re-wire the dash because we need 12V to power it up, change the instruments, bulbs, headlights and taillights, because they're all 6V. If we put the new clip under it we may as well box the frame to accommodate the extra torque. Then there's wheels and tires.....
Not trying to be snarky, I'm just confessing how my mind would see the progression.....
Value? You can't build something like that and expect to get it all back. I suspect if your end game is to resell, make it the best, safest daily driver you can with what you have to work with.
