Obviously I agree, and that's why a long bed is the only way to go for me.

Heres my work in progress, memory project 65 Suburban; 283, TH350, p/s front disc brakes, tilt column. Going to be the original light blue/white. Getting my chrome smoothies back soon so I cab strip and paint the current truck rally wheels.

Re: Roll Call for the 1965s!

I just picked this up over the holidays. It was in the same family for 50 years. The father bought it back in '68 and has since past. Happy to be a part of the forum for some ideas to dress her up a little.

Great looking truck! Mine is the LWB as well. Once the new year gets settled down maybe we can link up and compare notes?

Re: Roll Call for the 1965s!

Here is my 1965 C30. 292 4 gear. This is the day I picked it up. Kinda rough around the edges, but I like it. Originally ordered without a box, and then an early 1950's box was bolted on some time later. Have since acquired a correct box and much better fenders and grille.

Sounds good...always nice to have someone local to bounce ideas off of and to enjoy the trucks.

Re: Roll Call for the 1965s!

Here is my original C20 that I just bought. It is almost identical to the one I fixed up and drove in high school 30 years ago. My grandpa had bought that one new. I really believe that this one has 19,000 original miles on it. However, those were really hard miles, used as a farm tractor and used to haul livestock to the sale barn. It has a 292 with a 4 speed.
