B & M Shifter issue

I have a B&M Starshifter in my 72 with a TH-350. Worked great for a number of years but last year the ratchet function started acting up. I can pull it down into the ractheting position. When I kick it forward from 1st to 2nd it will go but I have to hit it more than once. It will not ratchet from 2nd to 3rd. I works fine when just pulling it into drive or reverse. Will also allow me to change gears manually in normal mode. Anybody had to deal with this? Do I need a new cable or is it an adjustment issue? Any help appreciated.

Re: B & M Shifter issue

Most likely you need to pull the unit out , bench it and give it a good cleaning then lube common on this type of B&M shifter units , you can check the cable before you pull the unit
