There is probably a small ridge at the inside edge of the drum where the brake shoes don't rub it and wear the drum. You will have to back off the adjusters.

Might be a dumb question but which way should I spin the adjusting knob?
Up or down to back off?

I can't remember off-hand but you turn them one way and it will either solve your problem or make the drum hard to turn, in which case you go the other way. -BA

It may have never been knocked out. Look for an indentation about an inch long and 1/4" wide. Might be a little bigger each way. Should be in the backing plate, though some drums have the knockout as well.

Re: c20 front drums removal

I got it. There are 4 untapped holes on drum face wedged a flat head in them and walked it off

Now is the spindle supposed to slide off? Tried pulling it but there is some resistance.

Re: c20 front drums removal

Once you back the adjusters off, the drum should come off. If you meant that the hub should come off, yes it should, since you have the spindle nut removed. The bearings may be a bit tight on the spindle, so make take some persuading.
