71 Chevy Wheels and Tires Help

When I was a teenager I drove a short wide '71 Chevy, and it was one of the best things to ever happen for me. I recently found a short step side that I'm about to use to re-create it as much as possible/ish... Not sure about the bed yet though. Has anyone done this research to make sure which wheels will fit?

2.5 inch drop spindles on the front
I think 4 inch drop on the back
Currently 15" wheels, having to move to 17" for the drop.

I want the closest thing to the old school Cragers that were on it before. I'm thinking 8" on front and probably 9.5" or more on back if it will fit. Don't want to bag or anything crazy though.

Then it will be off to disc brakes on rear, steering column, and drive train. (it currently has a later model engine that I want out and to build my own 4-bolt 350).

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
TI

Ridler has some neat modern takes on the classic Cragar.

While I'm at it, this is my favourite site for tire size comparisons.

Looks like back in the day you had 295 50 15s on the back. 285 40 17 is a comparable tire size.

They make cragers in 17 though personally I prefer American racing either way you can get a set around 550. Stepsides have less room to tuck if you go super low so keep that in mind.
