Yellow fleetside -66 from Sweden

Greetings from Sweden!

Found this forum when i was searching the net for some info when i bought this truck couple of weeks ago. A guy nearby me imported it to Sweden back in 2008 from Oregon. Someone here from Oregon who seen it before? :-)
He tried to register the car in Sweden but the Swedish bureaucracy didnt like it with straight pipes, dart heads and so on. So it been sitting in a garage 2km from where i live. Found out about it and fell in love with it the same second as i saw it.

It seems to be in quite healthy condition. Havent found any rust. It runs great! :-) 383 stroker. Holley 750. Hooker Headers. Dart aluheads. Msd ignition. th350. 12bolt rearend with lsd. 17" american racing. Discbrakes upfront.

My plans:

Remove the 383 and put in a boring smog 350 and have it registered here. Put the 383 back in and lay some rubber...

So far:

Love at first seight!

Well, i hate wires and the assholes who put it there...

Dont like wires and visual msd-box.

Fixed! And installed the orginal steering wheel. Much better!

Installed the msd under the dash and behind glovebox with its own fusebox

Press the "Go Advanced" button under the reply box... then in the "Additional Options" box you can press the "Manage Attachments" button and upload pics one at a time, up to 5 per reply. I have never used Dropbox.com so I am unsure about linking from there...
Sure hope this helps...

They may be too big… Try a smaller size, I think 800x600 should work…

Re: Yellow fleetside -66 from Sweden

Finally! Some progress! Had to make new mounts for the dirty old 350 that i´m going to use during registration. The ones that came with my truck was hitting the headers. Some wiring and hoses left to do. I have to build a simple exhaust too.

Welcome to the forum

Nice looking truck

Too bad you have to go to all this work to get the truck registered. Is it the modified engine they didn't like?

Re: Yellow fleetside -66 from Sweden

They didnt like the loud exhaust and they wanted bhp-papers. I can only have 240bhp when register the car. Easier to register with a orginal engine.

Will the registration expire, and you have to do this all again?

Re: Yellow fleetside -66 from Sweden

The previous owner imported it and tried to have it registred with the 383. But they thougth it had to much horsepower. So he just put the car away and let it sit for a few years. The po is not a "handy guy" so he thougth it was to much work for him to change engine. :-)

I have not forgotten you, I just have not run across my old heater controls yet...
Sorry to hear about your registration challenges, good to know you are determined to get it done though.

A cut off wheel into exhaust tube and tack large body washers will reduce decibels. After inspection grind the tack, remove the washers and weld up the slice has worked for me to pass tech.

Re: Yellow fleetside -66 from Sweden

I'm putting a 2,5" single pipe exhaust with 2 large silencers on. That should do the trick. :-)
