Little Body Work on the Blazer/Tub

Thought I'd share some pics of one of the most 'rust free' tubs I've ever seen.
Unfourtunately, this clean blazer got a little bent up once upon a time.
So now it's time to fix it.

The pics pretty much say it all.
The first set show's where I started to where I got over the weekend.

At least it didn't get sent to the crusher.

These pics show just how rust free this thing is.
Amazing for a 35 year old body.

Yeah, I know the inner rocker has some surface rust but come-on...

Very nice!!! Is this going to be the trail rig? With sheetmetal that nice, it would make a good driver. Do you have a color picked out yet?

Is that color medium bronze?? Looks like the same color as my 70 K5. Nice bodywork. Does anyone repro just the flange that the sill plate wraps over? Thats the only rust on mine, from muddy boots on a ranch. I even pulled the inner fender with a 3/8 ratchet, no broken bolts or stripped nuts. Oh yeah, are your armrests on the tan seat keepers?

What's the best way to remove the outer rocker? I wish I could find a bed side as nice as that

Quarter's On

After sandblasting the entire quarter, inside and out it was time for the metal etching primer and after that, the epoxy primer.
Cleaned up and primered the inner rocker while I was at it.

Got both sides completed by Sunday.

Here's the new rust free quarter during the test fit.

Still need to prime the area of the bed where the welds to the bedsides have been ground down and cleaned up.
