throttle a little sticky

fortuneatly enough not while i'm driving. just when i'm at idle at a stop light or in traffic i have to put a little more force to get the peddal to unstick. so could it be bad throttle shaft bushings or just a gummed up throttle shaft? been thinking of porting the throttle body so this might just be the opportunity. but i would also replace the throttle body before attempting any kind of porting and polishing so that way if i make a fubar i won't be a$$ed out, just mildly inconvenienced.

Re: throttle a little sticky

I think there was a TSB out for this problem a while back if you have cable throttle. spray some lube on both ends of the cable, that should fix it

Re: throttle a little sticky

It's carbon buildup behind the throttle blade from the EGR. Pull the throttlebody off, clean it good, that should fix it right up.
