Has anyone moved their fuel filler to the inside wheel well?

Found this article and want to see if anyone has done this for their truck. I have a shortbed with a filler on the passenger side but I added a second tank on the driver side and am having thoughts about cutting into a perfectly straight shortbed. This relocation seems like the best way except if I have a camper shell on. Lol thanks for your feedback.

My truck came with an auxiliary gas tank with the filler inside the wheelwell. It didn't look too convenient but not totally impossible either. I would think hard about using a cross over line, like big trucks do, and just fill both tanks from one side.

My truck has a aftermarket crossover so it can be filled from both sides. I do not think they are still being produced, but something on a similar principle might work for you. I think some people may have also done an on demand transfer pump as well.

Ya I read about those too but that seemed a bit more risky depending on how I implemented it and I would still have to pull in the opposite side to fill up lol.

Yes I had. But it was hooked up to a very small 25 liter gastank. As a backup for my propane system

Ok cool ya I think I'm gonna try it. I don't want it to really show in the wheel well and I'll have to think about how I want to protect it from the elements. Thanks for all your responses. It would be a shame to cut into the bedside.

I saw this one at the spring Carlisle meet a few months ago. I would like to do the same but am not sure how well it will work once I lower the truck.
