Need a stamped steel/aluminum tray, but who makes them?

I am building a little spectrum analyzer thing (it's 12" x 50" so not really little). To assemble them properly I need a "box" on the back to house the electronics. I'd like it as a tray that I can seal to the back somehow. Basically a 5-sided box with one of the large sides removed to make a tray.

That's an easy stamping but for a run of 100 or so who do you call? Not a machine shop, but who can bend and form and stamp and cut in a single job to dimensions like that?

Thanks
Dave

PS: Here's a video of the light show if you're curious! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6xa...ature=youtu.be

machine shops normally don't do sheet metal fabrication.

check your local gutter, metal awning, architectural sheet metal folks, you'd be surprised at how many small "custom" jobs these guys actually do.

Yrs ago We had some sheet metal work done by a local hvac guy...he let me use his brake to bend some aluminum checkerplate last summer...
To do what your wanting as a stamping means you'll need to have press dies made...very$$$$....I'd just use the old fold it out of sheetmetal method...
Your vid link isn't working..

Check out your local sign shops as well. Most of us have the equipment to do it.

simple bends do not require special dies. making a box is as simple as it gets in the sheet metal fabrication world.

You probably have a metal fab shop somewhere in your area. Most welding shops can accommodate this job. A shop or contractor that builds restaurant equipment would be nice to find.
