OK cars license plates?

Just wondering if anyone has seen these before? I have not and just wanting to see if they could possibly be associated with the GM OK used cars program from the 60s? They are heavy steel and supposedly came from an old dealership. Any info appreciated.

Re: OK cars license plates?

Don't recall ever seeing those before but would no surprise me at all with your thoughts about being associated to the GM OK Used Cars program. In the early 70s when I first came to this town I remember an OK Used Car lot on the corner of one of our main streets. Just behind and a bit north of the local Chevrolet dealership. Typical of the times, cable fence marking the boundary, gravel lot, couple dozen cars and a few trucks from the day. Small sales office set off in the corner. Closed probably mid 70s, would be so cool to go back and wander thru the offerings. Cooler yet to go back and actually buy one at the prices of the time.

I can barely remember exactly what you are describing in my home town. I was pretty young at that time.
