72 C20 4 link 4x4 conversion

I thought some would be interested in my 4 link build. I'm converting to 4x4 using the factory crossmember and coil buckets and a high pinion Dana 60.

What is your final frame height? What coils are you running? Anticipated tire size
? I have a 2005 Ford 60 that I am contemplating how to make work since the frame widths are so much narrower on the old frames vs new style frames. This might be an option for me

Re: 72 C20 4 link 4x4 conversion

I'll be running 37's on it. The coils are 8" Rubicon express Jeep XJ springs. I used them on another project, a 2001 extended cab Shortbed Silverado with a very similar setup and the ride was awesome. I should end up with about 10" if lift. The Dana 60 is from a 79 F-250, very hard to find but the most versatile for custom setups like this.

This is the 01 Silverado with the 8" Jeep coils. It ended up being 16" of lift on that truck.

Re: 72 C20 4 link 4x4 conversion

Thanks! It's coming along. I should have the front wrapped up this weekend then next weekend I'll do the shackle flip and springs in the rear. Then off to the body shop it goes.

How much will the springs compress with the drivetrain installed? Might sit where you want it then?

In that pic I actually have a ratchet strap pulling the front end down about two inches but I imagine it will probably come down another inch or so. Swapping springs after it's together is only a two beer job.

Man, that is sweet. If you came up with a kit, I bet you could sell a few...

I gotcha, I'm not doing anything as extreme as you but I'm also waiting to set ride height until it's all together.

That came out really nice. I'm putting a parallel 4 link on my '67, hopefully it'll come out just as nice as yours!
