Courtesy light -+ trigger?
85. Wiring diagram is confusing. Question is regarding the dome lite. I assume one side is constant hot OR constant ground. The other side that goes to the light switch...is it ground or hot?
I know this sounds elementary but I'm working on a Custom Deluxe (i.e. no dome light from factory). Just don't want to create a short when I tie it into the pin switches I installed for the alarm. |

Hot to the light...the ground from switches is what triggers the light...

Re: Courtesy light -+ trigger?
Yes that is right and on most GMs the constant hot is orange and the switched ground is white. look at the light switch for a white wire which is the ground/switch for the dome light.
The alarm should be specific as to which wire you'll need but I would think it will tie into the white wire since that feeds all the other switches if not deactivated.
