Door sill plates

What material are the door still plates made of. Mine always seem to start to rust. I left them in my shed for the past year or so and they pretty rusty on the underside and have not been exposed to water.

Thin sheet metal. I chromed my originals because new china not close in pattern

These are still widely available from GM, I bought mine right from the Chevy parts counter at the dealers.

I checked the site, but they do not have the SAME listing in SS for the GMC, just chrome. I wonder if its the same quality?

got a GM p/n? last time I talked to a dealer about early model parts, they were having trouble finding part numbers..
