Love to drive mine and other than being geared sorta low, it is very comfortable and easy!
We live out in the boonies, so 30 miles to shop is no bigggie. Taking the hot rod is fun!
Last Sunday evening I drove 60-miles to buy some high temp sealer for my motocross bike.

I drive a '59 Rambler every day that is most certainly a "driver" with a basic paint job and interior far from perfect but was all new when I go it 7 years ago. So it's "clean" and I just drive it and park it where ever I want and brush touch the paint chips every once in a while. I have really gotten to love it because I don't have to worry about it.

My son drives a 63 Falcon and the brakes are being re-done so he is driving my Rambler and I am driving my Gran Sport that sounds much like your truck, something that is pretty nice with a lot of sweat put into it. I have had it on the road for 4 years and have put very few miles on it. Well since my son is driving the Rambler I have been driving the Gran Sport every day and though I am very careful with where I park and there are things I will not do like leave it in a mall parking lot I am getting much more comfortable using it every day and am really enjoying driving it. I almost hate to have him give me the Rambler back. It's taken me a while to lighten up and not be so freaked out. I am a big believer in using my grand parents dishes, you know what I mean? I don't want them up in the attic protected I want to use them and enjoy them and if they get broken, tough, it's better than never using them. I am trying to put that same thought into the Gran Sport and it is paying off, I am really enjoying driving it.




I know this is about our trucks but I thought I would make a point, have fun with it! My truck is in a million pieces but when it was together I drove it every single day for years. We are talking a full on show worthy lacquer paint job with the bed cut and buffed inside and out. I am not kidding, I was driving this to work 20 miles or so each way every day and I would Mirror Glaze it (good old No.7) every single weekend!



Damn we need to enjoy them as much as possible.

the 55 is driven the most then the 53, 78 for hauling, her 03and the jag for log road trips the vettes don't see much sunshine these days, but 45 years ago the 65 was my only drive,r until the kids came along
The 55 has 70000 on this rebuild and I am the second owner
In 91 I replaced the solidaxle with a Mll and power steering drove it that way until 00 when a freeze plug rusted out behind the flywheel which prompted a total rebuild.
The original owner and I figured we had over 400 000 miles on the truck when I changed the drive train in 2000
I just need another 15 years or until the kids take away my license and keys, until then I will still burn the tire off of them !!!

Had my 55 for 10 months and have never had it on the road yet, started getting the engine running lat fall then winter hit now that spring has been here trying to get it ready to pass safety inspection, just got wipers going, now need exhaust pipe replaced, then maybe, if I got antique vehicle plates I could drive it but way too many restrictions

I put my Omega Kustom gauges in on Father's Day 2014 and the odometer now shows 7200 miles. Usage will go up now that I have a better heater and even more after I get wipers. Hauled home 900 lbs. of retaining wall blocks last week.

'49 3100 hotrod. I drive it every chance I can and haul trees, soil etc in it on the weekends. I'm not allowed to drive it to work (my ferry terminal) due to insurance or I'd do that too.

I'll play. Most of my work is in LA so my '14 RAM does about 250-300 miles a week, on office days and weekends I drive my '66 so probably 90 miles a week. I'm hoping to get the '58 more road worthy to switch them up. '58 goes about 5 miles every other weekend just working out the bugs.

I drive mine every chance I get. I have a company truck so I drive it daily for work. The '71 is fairly new to me so I haven't driven it much but the '51 I drive the crap out of. If I'd install the new wiper motor I have for it and fix the heater it'd be a year round rig.

Took my '50 on a 650 mile round trip Memorial Day weekend. The truck currently shows 13K on the speedometer, a speedometer that wasn't hooked up until a year after I put her on the road.

Stock 307, TH-350, 3:08 gear, cruise control, routinely gets 16+ mpg on the road trips. S-10 chassis with air ride will put you to sleep, it's been the most reliable vehicle in my "fleet".

jeeze, last time I drove 800 miles in one day it was from Amarillo to Phx. Was in my wife's grandmothers 70 Caprice 4 dr hardtop. what a cool car that was. Cruisin in style with A/C on about 85 most of the way. But after 800 I was shot.

300 HP 350 with a TH400. ended up having to put a set of dish pistons in it. flattop 350 with 64cc heads, over 10:1. Ping no matter what. stock 350 dish pistons with 12cc dish, brought it down to 9:1. Isky 252 megacam, thing ran like scalded dog. Crazy, ran better at 9:1 than 10:1.

I have seen this truck on the road. There is an orange one running around Central in Canyon Crest that looks real nice too. Been trying to get sons 1962 finished so I can work on my 59 gmc.

Upstate NY traffic?!!?!? Git your butt down to southern Westchester and see what NY traffic is. Or better yet, don't - it sucks. What is Mechanicsville near?

I'm doing 70 miles per day for the past month or so, no foreseeable end. Some of it is at 70mph, some of it is a 7mph. Was doing 83mph for a brief stint last week, pretty solid. She cruises beautifully, just needs a real damn radio and the couple of grand worth of discs brakes sitting in my basement installed.
