1972 k10 suburban

Like many, I had been looking for the right 4x4 suburban for some time, several years actually. Final found one and it was close to home! The paint looks great in pictures but it is actually tired, so I am considering a new color and scheme. Has anyone done Cheyenne style scheme on a 67-72 suburban that they could post up? I am thinking light green or teal with white.

It's not exactly a Cheyenne look but its green and white, and may help you with your decision.

Re: 1972 k10 suburban

HO455, that looks very clean and a good color combo. Do you plan on using any trim? Bigdav160, thanks for the welcome. Can't say enough how excited I am. Unfortunately the SPID was removed when it was painted, back in 1996 I believe. There is not a whole lot of information on the restoration either, but I believe it the drivetrain is original although I have not pulled any numbers aside from matching the body and frame VIN. SBC 350 in front of a TH350/NP205. Lift is a 4" spring front/block rear. I plan on swapping that out for a 2" lift, WV smoothies paint matched(?) on 255/85/r16 AT or MT's. I really like the GM light green color code 903 so I think that is where I am leaning with a white cab, or white cab and hood. Or Cheyenne style with Green lower, cab and white between the trim. Not sure about the truck upper trim on a 'burn...Interior is a light grey with Monte Carlo swivel buckets front and bench second row.

Re: 1972 k10 suburban

Thank you sir. It's the closest I could come to the 503 green in a non-custom color. (No cash to paint the interior now) It is a sixties style metallic color that is very different looking in direct sunlight than it is when it is overcast. I don't have any trim for the Burban so no plans to install any. But there has been talk about some pinstriping along the the color break. You have a great looking rig even if your claim the paint is tired is true. That paint looks better than most of the cars I've owned.

Re: 1972 k10 suburban

So pleased to see another 4x4 Suburban in my backyard

I am now actually thinking I may not be the only 4x4 burb at local shows anymore lol

As far as the paint scheme you are interested in seeing on a burb, check out forum member "Hart_Rod" suburban.

Re: 1972 k10 suburban

Chris- thanks, I'll take a. Loser look at his suburban, I recall liking it but did not pay that close of attention to the paint scheme. Good call!
I am really looking forward to seeing some more 4x4 Suburban in the wild, I have only seen those that I considered purchasing! Hope I can make some shows this year, it seems that I'm always working in tmyears past...
