Need help sorting ls stand alone harness
I hope this is the right section for this but I bought this ls1 setup from a guy running it in a third gen camaro. The harness was already done but had some of the connections cut when removed. I'm a lil stumped and looking for some direction since I'm not really an expert. I can get by, I've built my own harnesses in the past but back tracking and understanding the way they setup these relays isn't my area of expertise. If anyone can help me understand which relay us doing which that would be amazing
Relay 1 White 86 runs to red pin 9 fuel pump relay control Yellow 87 runs to spare cut yellow wire that's hanging down Blue 30 runs to fuse two green Black 85 runs to- red pin 24 and tps sensor pin c blue 60 BLK 452 Low Reference TPS Pin “B” Relay 2 White 86 runs to fuse 1 green Yellow 87 runs to fuse 1 green Blue 30 runs to spare cut blue wire that's hanging down (ignition on 12+?) Black 85 runs to green fuse 1 In the attached pics fuse 1 is the yellow to the right and fuse 4 is the the green furthest to the left. The two orange writes that are cut and hanging feed the fuse panel. |

Re: Need help sorting ls stand alone harness
Well I might be able to help-Ive started building stripped down LS harnesses so while I design my harnesses a little different from everybody else, basically you have what I call a 4-wire connection.
Relay 1 is your fuel pump relay control-it is +12V IGN on via the RED pcm connector harness pin 9. Relay 2 is your PCM switched +12V IGN on. Im a bit confused on the relay 2 wiring through the fuse panel-not sure why there doesnt appear to be a ground trigger for it-? As I said, I build my harnesses a little bit different because there are a few things most of the "online guys" do which Im not a fan of but hopefully somebody else can chime in regarding yours. |

Re: Need help sorting ls stand alone harness
I don't know either. The PCM simply needs a switched 12V source and be fused (and only needs 15A anyway) so I cant tell why it appears to be wired the way it is. Can you contact whoever modded it from the person you bought it from?

Re: Need help sorting ls stand alone harness
That's how I did the last couple I wired up. I didn't have a lot of time with it this time around as I was working on it while in town from work for the week. I ended up getting in touch with the guy who built the harness originally and he was really good to work with. He offered to go through it for free. I ended up paying him a lil extra to add the things I would have to add in the first place such as ac relay and wiring to pin outs, dual fan relay and wiring to pin outs, and cruise control wiring. So in the end it turned out pretty good. I really like your diagrams btw, I'm going yo save then!
