Re: Aftermarket Underbed Fuel Tank Filler Neck/Cap Options

I know this is an older thread but I was hoping someone could tell me where I can buy this? I have seen them before but can place where.

Also looking at bed wood options with a full hinge on one plank. Maybe a piano hinge? Ideas?

Up to now I had planned on following ChuckDriver's approach - since I do NOT intend to ever truly "load" my truck I was gonna use a bed fill using this:

I STILL like it but I'm wondering if it would be possible to put your approach IN this recess in the rear fender to keep the cap from "sticking up" in profile? Besides, I kinda like the stainless escutcheon! lol.
Where do I get this setup?

Here ya go:

I've also heard that a kitchen sink flange will also work, never looked into it for size though.

Brothers Trucks: See Denee's post #4, page 1 of this thread.

Speedway Motors: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Billet...Door,5841.html

I think Speedway has them made. I will say this about this door: When fully open the aluminum has a tendency to gall where the door hits the frame. When I install mine I'm going to try to fab a stop to keep it from doing that.

Older thread but figured I'd add this pic for another potential option for those surfing through the forums looking for answer/ideas like me.

That is thinking out of the box! My problem is I keep so much stuff in the back of the truck(storage), I'd never be able to open the door

MoFire that is actually what I have planned for my truck but I've never seen a picture of one before. Do you have any more info on that truck?

i ran with a guy in a 66 long bed coming out of dallas to nashville with that setup
he hated it, every time he fueled up he'd have to peal back the tonneau cover, unload suitcases, coolers and lawn chairs
his truck was a big block gas hogg, first time i fueled with him, the next time i didn't, nor the next time

if you ever plan on taking a trip with your truck put the filler neck in the fender
