Possibly the holy Grail...... '70 Jimmy Custom 2 Wd

This could possibly be the only one (this model) left in existence, no one seems to know a whole bunch about production numbers (only guesses) ...... I hear maybe 150-200 were made, and no one knows how many are left, or how many remain untouched...... Here's my rare bird..... introducing my 1970 Jimmy Custom survivor named " The Golden Ticket "........

The few people I have spoken to that say that they have one all agree that theirs have been modified one way or another and are no where close to being stock...

An estates sale find in Los Angeles Ca., same owner 46 years, a friend of mine who used to be photographer for "Classic Trucks" magazine picked up from a friend of his,...... "G" contacted me a few days before last Christmas about what he had recently picked up, he knew it was rare but not knowing "how" rare it was, after I educated "G" he nonchalantly asked me if I was interested in buying it, he told me what he had into it and said he really wanted to make sure it went to go to a good home and that it wasn't a money thing, he offered to me what we both considered to be a fair price and not really a big profit on his side, so on Christmas eve 2017 I became the proud owner...... and what was sooooo freakin cool is when it was all said and done (paid for) and I told him my plans by keeping it stock, only changing the wheels from a dog dish cap to a full cap with a 1.6 white wall to making it look more like a 2 wheeler and also keeping everything as it is on the SPID.... he smiled and replied "It's not a money thing" and gave me some change back (and not a few bucks either) from our agreed upon price and also said "have a good Christmas" ..... How cool is that?

I think you nailed it with the Holy Grail tag. It's really rare to find a 69-72 2wd blazer much less a Jimmy and still all stock. You've got a REAL good friend there Rene. You've got a good reputation with these trucks and he knows you will treat it right.

Well, trip on this.... my buddy "G" who sold me the Jimmy is the same photographer who 11 years ago put me on the cover of Classic's Trucks magazine along with 3 of my beauties (3 trucks) and referred to me as the "King of the C/10's", we laughed about that and I told him he gave "Big Shoes" to fill!

So all this is his fault? Cuz you filled those shoes and didn't stop there. I never could make it to a cookout before it burst at the seems. Bummer. I would have liked to contribute some of my own creations to the grille. I wear my Martinez Super Service cap with pride...only on special occasions, of course.

I do miss our "Get Togethers" we had 9, and everyone of them were trouble free, but the last one really (another trouble free one) just got so big that we out grew my 1 acre yard..... and moving to a park is out of the question, because then it becomes work and that ain't happening!!!!!

Yep, just had to happen. I'd be thrilled just to come out for Pomona one week/weekend.

That Holy Grail is a museum piece. So when are you going to take this K/5 crew back to 1990?
