Brake drag help

Just installed new brake booster on 1972 GMC 2wd LWB. Brakes seems correct when cold as truck easily moves at that point. However after driving a few miles, brakes drag. By the time I get back home, brakes really dragging, wheels are hot, and brakes a starting to smoke. First thought is the booster rod is too long but it doesn't seem so when cold because truck moves easily. Thoughts?
