Man thats a tough one, Im not real sure about the color either but you hate to change a piece of history.
It looks like a pretty rare truck. It could be worth some money to the right person.
Are you restoring it our makin a dd or a hot rod? Has it already been painted??
Some Pics would be cool.
If your not restoring it you might be able to sell it and get enough cash to by another truck to build the way you want.
Either way, congrats on having a unique truck and good luck!!

Re: 50th anniversary 58

50th? If it were an anniversary edition, wouldn't it be a 40th? The special edition 68s were 50th anniversary editions.

i am restoring it but as a hotrod, i didnt know about the anniversary thing til it was too late, i have already done a camaro subframe, c-notch, and smoothed the cab so i guess its too late, so i was going to do a hot rod truck with original colors

Re: 50th anniversary 58

Didn't Chevrolet start in 1908 and they started building trucks in 1918? That would mean that 58 was the 50th for Chevy and 68 was the 50th for trucks. Making both statements correct.

Re: 50th anniversary 58

The first Chevrolet trucks went on sale in 1918, the same year that the Chevrolet Motor Company became part of GM. There were a lot of changes in 58 to body design and engine but being a 50th was not one of them. The math doesn't work. No doubt its a very nice truck but I think from the pictures its just a Custom cab, big window, 283. The seat covering came with the Custom cab as did the neoprene floor mats, chrome trim on the windows, chrome knobs on the dash, arm rests that match the seat color and door inserts that also match. There is no radio, no over drive, nothing that says 50th or 40th or I'm special. I have seen gold colored 58's but I couldn't say if its the same color due to the age of the trucks I see. But that two tone paint scheme was available for 58-9. So I think the owner may not know exactly what he has or was told he has something he doesn't. But still one of the nicest truck I've seen in a while.

Re: 50th anniversary 58

I was able to dig up that GM was 50 in 1958 and they dubbed that year the Golden Milesone. The cars were called The Golden Jubilee editions. Over the years GM has had many a 50 year anniversary for various cars and truck and mixed up a Anniversary Gold paint for each occasion. So it is possible that this truck is a Golden Jubile or anniversary edition for GM but not maybe not Chevy.
