I need some Stance pictures please...

I've looked at many pictures of trucks with dropped front axles, but few list the details. I'm looking for pictures of 55-59, with Mustang 2 front end with the standard drop spindles NOT 2" drop. I have the standard Heidts Mustang 2 spindles but would like to lower the back end on mine. I'm not sure how low I should go. Will the truck look ok level or back end lower than front? Or should I leave well enough alone?

Re: I need some Stance pictures please...

I know you said NO drop spindles, because of no response's I will submit mine. It has Mustang ll with 2" dropped spindles up front, in the rear I used a TCI leaf set up that puts the axel over the the leafs. It has all new mounts and leafs and rides well. I also added 2" lowering blocks in the rear to level it out. So it could be what your looking for, except I went 2" lower both front and back

Re: I need some Stance pictures please...

Your wheel and tire combo will play into your stance along with suspension. Post a pic of what your truck looks like now if you have one and we might be able to give you some advice. In the end, it's your truck and you should make it look how YOU want it to look. If you have a particular truck that you like, post a pic of it and I'm sure someone here can tell you how to get that look. It certainly helps to have a master plan (or at least a general idea of what you want it to look like) in mind when you start your build so you don't have to re-do things later on.

my opinion, truck looks good level, or just slightly higher in the rear. i dont think it looks good if the back is lower than the front.

Re: I need some Stance pictures please...

here's my 58 truk with fatman mustII w/stock spindles and rear axle flipped on the springs
the only difference is that i removed the 3 overload springs on back
not sure why we have so much difference in the amount of drop, i can barely get my rear tires off

..and it looks like the Fatman drops the front end quite a bit more than the Heidts kit. Your truck looks awesome.

Here is my TF stance. Seems kinda tall in the butt, but when i load 300# of marble, steel and plastic, it settles down a little.
I love the way it drives and steers w/MII and single leaf rears.
Ogre: I can't get the rears off w/o sticking a jack from axle to frame and spreadding.

Re: I need some Stance pictures please...

Here's a great how-to flip the rear axle on top of the springs. Typically, you'll get 6-7" in a flip. This how-to moved the rear leaf spring on top of the frame and slightly forward to get about 1.5" back. I did this and added a slightly longer set of shackles for a little more lift and love it. I didn't want to cut the frame for a notch and this is about as low as I can go without a notch.

Here's a pic: Sorry about the sold sign. :-)

This is with a 3" drop axle, two springs removed, and the rear flip described above. 275/60r17 rear with 225/55r17 front.

Re: I need some Stance pictures please...

stance as advertised.
dropped the rear using 3" drop springs from the truck shop, and I made 1 12" lower shackles out of thicker material. I cut the rear axle bump stops down to 1/2" thick with a hacksaw and put them back on.
