1969 C10. 4x4 manual steering box

I'm new here and own 2 C10 pickups.
First one is a 1966 step side short box and the one I need help with is a 1969 C10 4x4 long bed 1/2 ton 4x4. It must be a heavy half as it has 6 lugs but you guys would know better than I.
Now I know the K10 is the 4x4 Verizon of this truck but mine is a 292 4x4 4 speed truck and my steering box is junk.
I've looked all over the place and my pitman arm has a bolt that goes through it to hold it to the splined output on the steering box so I'm sure the 2 wheel drive Version even though they look the same and attaches the same the pitman arm is diffrerent.
Can one of you fine fellows direct me to the correct part for my application.
I've pulled the box and it is defiantly bad.

Re: 1969 C10. 4x4 manual steering box

first off to put a wanted post out you need to be a subscribing member and pay the $25 to be a premium member. so you cant ask to buy one here yet. trust me its worth it to access the parts section and the knowledge here makes it especially worth it. the k10 steering box has a pitman arm with a bolt through it while the c10 box has a big nut on the bottom shaft that holds the 2wd pitman arm on. 2 completely different boxes and they aren't interchangeable. if it was a v8 I would say swap to power steering but being a 292 those brackets get pretty pricey. but there are company's that will rebuild them for you. redhead steering has a very good name you will have to call them and say you have a 4wd manual box from k10 and ask them how much a full rebuild will be. if you are looking for a good used one they are around. none will be perfect but decent with only a little play.

So what I am discribing is a K10 manual box!
I wasn't sue as the fender tags as I had said say C10 and the box looks and mounts like a C10 with the exception of the pitman arm.
I really was looking to purchase a new or correctly rebuilt.

That manual steering box is probably a hard one to find. Maybe just up grade to a power box?

Oh and welcome to the board!

Manual boxes are sooooo easy to rebuild. You should learn how.

I'm actually pretty handy and would not have an issue with attempting a rebuild but the box binds at different points and I'm afraid there may be serious internal damage.
I'll pull it apart this weekend and take a look.
