Monster Transmission?

Just wanted to ask if anyone has purchased any transmissions from Monster, in particular, one of there 400 tranny’s or any tranny for that matter. I have just ordered one of there SS Super duties. It cost me a pretty penny but am hoping that it is the last one I need to purchase for a long time. It’s advertised as capable of handling up 750hp engine, I am installing it behind a STOUGHT 350 pushing about 385 to 400hp in my 86 GMC K3500. There order process was fairly easy but detailed. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with this company?

Re: Monster Transmission?

Ask around your town on who to use to build your trans LOCALLY , If you have a problem with a mail order transmission what are you going to do crate it back up and deal with all the hassle/costs/time shipping it back ? Any transmission shop can build what you need .

Re: Monster Transmission?

Boy you did that backwards. Why ask if its reputable AFTER you order? Good luck is all we can say now either way.

Re: Monster Transmission?

Well all I can do is hope all goes well. I will say that I have recently meet some folks in my area that have done business with them, and there experiences were very positive and informed me that I was in “good hands”. Going to hope for the best, and let the chips fall where they may. I will try to post pictures and details with my build as time goes by. Shinysideup, I couldn’t agree more, 2017 was a year I would love to forget, and so far 2018 has been full of difficult decisions. And to be perfectly honest I forgot that I had joined this site in Feb, 2017 until recently. If anyone has first hand knowledge about this company I would look forward to hearing it.

Re: Monster Transmission?

yep they s---- never buy anything, just got my truck on the road Labor Day and tranny[700r4] won't shift till 4000 rmp after 10 mile run, they want me to pull it ship it back at $450, tail shaft leaked soon as I put fluid in it before I even put cab on, they know nobody is going to pay that so they got me, live and learn, here is a pic of of the first tail shaft that came on tranny , they sent me another tail shaft that also leaked so bought one local
