hinged bed floor ideas

I know this question has been asked a few times here,..ive searched and read quite a bit of builds, including coulters thread (bad ass by the way),..also maggies raised bed and jodoh's tilt bed,..im looking for a few pictures of different ways that guys have done a hinged bed floor...I know a lot have done it but its hard to search the topic when they are buried in long build threads

Re: hinged bed floor ideas

I'm planning to do my own using an aluminum plate I got for free. Its 4'x6' which fits right between the inner fenders. The perimeter of it will need to be reinforced as well as the plate itself. Speedway has some HD universal deck lid hinges which I will use with a pair of gas shocks. I don't want to complicate it with electric screw jacks or anything with power. I'm going that big because I don't want to cut an already squared piece of plate, that an access to the shocks and driveshaft will be easier.

Re: hinged bed floor ideas

My bed comes out in 3 pieces, with the rear being a hinged "trunk" for the fuel cell etc. Aluminum subframe with a skin, hinged on the inner bed rail on the right side.
