2018 Stepside Square Body Coming?

I really don't know where this thread should have been started... Its a square body on the rear.

I would guess its an export truck to Saudi Arabia as those people really love stepsides...

The good news is for us square body lovers is... With a vin, these beds/parts are available over the counter at any local GM dealer.

Imagine this with a retro paint job... I am in love!

the bed looks like its mounted to high..and the bumper doesn't fit the bed....photoshop maybe?.maybe not....almost looks like someone stuck a 70-80s bed on a new truck...but the stake pockets are different

it does look pretty good with the stepside bed . the bed does sit a little to high but it looks good cant say to much about the frontend though .

Maybe that bed could get some use on something else but it doesn't look good at all to me with the way it doesn't line up with the bottom of the cab plus the bed looks shallow and the slant back windshield just looks really weird to me.
I would like to see what that bed look like on a 73-80.

It just doesn’t do it for me sadly even the new I wanna be a 77 it just doesn’t do it for me the body lines just have to tell a story and sell a car to me and they just aren’t there.

If you can order the parts NEW for one, and it's not just some aftermarket conversion I'd wish to know the part numbers...

As noted, it's an older bed mounted to a newer truck. Kind of like the two-tone square decals on the newer truck - someone is customizing their own.

And that's cool. But not factory. Although I suspect you could build the bed out of LMC parts, and make it fit the way you want.

Also, from my experience, if you can get a VIN to a truck that has been SOLD (very important key work here, SOLD), the parts are available over the counter at any GM dealer. Usually, available the next day. However, it is advisable not to tell the parts person what is going on, just order the part you want w/the vin and there will be no problems.

Its a custom job from middle east. It's a popular swap over there.
Ive seen pix of them before but never saw brand new one with bed swap.

Didn't want to get into too much detail but...
They are MarK bed kits with aftermarket fenders and Grote tail lights.
Sometimes the get NOS fenders and bedrail kits. Most times not.

Def not factory. I have sold them parts to do it.
I guy deal with monthly for last 8 yrs bought twelve 8' bed kits for just this purpose. All but 2 went to dealership Qatar for brand new trucks.
That red one I suspect is a dealer installed with early '73-'77 fenders.
6' is popular because the actual 8' step between the cab and fender is not reproduced and extremely hard to find unless you buy bed the whole bed used.

There is no RPO code for a 30yr old bed on a 2018.
They build GMC in the US, Canada and Mexico and Im quite sure there isn't a warehouse full of step side beds in Flint.
