looking for the right tire

I am looking for some tall skinny tires to fit my 15 x 6 steel rims. these will be stock steel wheels and not rallys like is on there now. I want to kinda fill the wheel wells up. but do not want a fat tire. Do any of you have pics and tire sizes, These will be going on my 67 four wheel drive. I have looked and looked at tires either i do not know what i am looking for or do not know what to look for. Thanks

Re: looking for the right tire

Do you know how tall you want to go, or do you want the tallest that will fit on your 15x6 wheels? What size tire is on the rally wheel in your pic? Is that about what you're after? What about tread pattern -- all terrain, mud, or....?

You can get BFG All Terrains in 33/9.5-15 with recommended rim width from 6.5" to 8.5", so your 6" rims won't be fudging too much. They're 32.7" tall.

Re: looking for the right tire

I tried to find tires for my wheels for my 67 CST...no body would even touch the split rims...so I just got some 285/75's by goodyear... not too big...30 &1/2" tall...305's would fit...but I like the 285's...I bought some basic chrome rims...

are you using the split rims?

good luck...t

love that blue by the way! I am ordering that wheel and door trim for mine too...

I like to go as tall as I can for a 15" rim and not fat and also and a A /T tire would be good. On the Rallys are 33x10.50's

What about the 33/9.5-15 BFGs I posted above.... kinda sounds like what you're after, but are they too big, too small, too wide, too expensive, or something else? Might be able to find something else if I get a better feel for what you want.

Re: looking for the right tire

I wanted 33x9.5s r15s for my 71 K10, but BFG was on 'infinite' backorder. I went with the 33x10.5r15 BFGs and love them. they drive great and look right. can't find a picture for you though.

let us know if you find a source for the 9.5s!
