Radiator mount
Hey guys! Wanted to flush my radiator this weekend. Started draining some really rusty/muddy looking stuff and noticed that the radiator was sitting on a pice of 2x4 held in place by bailing wire and two pieces of wire wound around bolts up top.
I know it’s been 40 years but pretty sure this wasnt OEM set-up. Not to mention that the shroud has a piece missing held together with zip ties. Bottom line, unsure if radiator is correct for the truck. Kind of think so. How should this be mounted in my 79? Any pics, diagrams, or info to point me in the right direction?

you have a short height rad in a tall rad setup .
get short rad upper brackets or newer rad for tall option . . . . or leave it alone . i ran a short with a 2x4 and a small strip on top to keep it from kicking out for a few years and no problems.

A cheap way to flush a radiator is pour the home depot version of clr into it, and let set for a hour I think.
Not as good as a new radiator but alot better then just water. |

the first question is the core support good? theres supposed to be a couple of rubber things for it to set on and if you want me to take pictures of mine let me know and ill gladly post em up

Ore support seems to be solid. I think that I am missing parts, possibly rubber stops/rests for the bottom to sit. Also, a top plate or mounting brackets to connect it to core support.
Unsure if shroud is the right one or something rigged up.
