Re: Project: Boosted Blucille. '70 C10 SWB PB Fab, LS2 S475

Finally got some tires mounted up. I was a nervous wreck mounting them. Luckily I had a friend that is as picky as I am about that sort of thing and he helped me out. Went with a little beefier tire in the rear. Hoping it doesn't bite me in the ass but we will see.

And she's laid out

glad to see you didn't have issues mounting your 22" wheels like I had with the billet specialties for mine.

I remembered your problems about the time we started mounting tires. Don't get me wrong is was a pain in the ass but they went on there.

Working on season 3 for you right now!

Thanks guys! I'm starting to get pretty excited about it. Trying to stay focused so I can get it on the road hopefully in the spring. I got my driveshaft made so I'm working on setting my angles on everything right now.

Re: Project: Boosted Blucille. '70 C10 SWB PB Fab, LS2 S475

Got the driveshaft in enough to where I could start working on mounting my accuair. Still working on sorting the angles out on the driveshaft. Currently waiting on some pinion shims. But in the meantime, I got this little jewel done. Had a friend with a plasma table cut this out for me.

Welded some tabs on and secured it with some rivnuts.

Thank ya gentlemen!

Alright moving on. Got my driveshaft in. I've been fighting angles for a week. Got creative and finally have it close to dialed in. Been waiting on the shims. Got them in today. Blew the rear end apart and installed them. My carrier bearing has been the biggest hurdle. The suggested 2" shim didn't work for me of course. I had the 1.5" spacer that AZ pro performance sells with the extra shims but it wasn't enough. I needed to be closer to 3.25". Luckily I found some carrier bearing spacers made by GSI that were an inch. So I ordered 2 of them. Took one of them to a machine shop and had them mill off 1/4". Overall it worked out. Still need to paint the driveshaft. Thats on my never ending and ever growing to do list.

Also finished up the accuair and battery mount. Added some extra braces out on the end. It wanted to flex too much when I put the batteries in so just a little added insurance. Little paint and voila!

Re: Project: Boosted Blucille. '70 C10 SWB PB Fab, LS2 S475

Bed is on! Just another test fit lol gotta measure for my axle cut.

Also bought me a new toy. I was a little skeptical about using a welder on 110v but this little guy welds damn good. Gonna wire in a 220v soon to fully utilize it. Mainly bought this one for its tig capability. While I don't have the first clue as to how to tig weld, I figure it would come in handy for when I do learn.

Nothing like grinding off powder coat

And bag mounts are on! She was a roller for about 10 minutes before I took it all back apart. First time its been a true roller in over a year. Felt good to finally make some noticeable progress

Looks great....I have the same welder and have been happy with it. I have one 220v outlet in my garage but depending on where in the garage I'm working having the ability to plug into 110v is nice. Love your truck.

Love your truck build! You're really going to like that welder. I bought a 215 when it first came out. Coudn't be happier. It does a great job MIG or TIG, and switching between the two only takes a few seconds
