Opinions welcome. Putting a wing onto my car with pic.

Here is a car similar to what I have planned for mine.

The daily driver is in the body shop getting the "dog leg" cut out and a replacement piece panel bonded in and area re-painted. After that I'll cleaning the surface rust off the bottom, applying POR 15 (assuming the temperature is high enough), and replacing all the fuel and brake lines.

I want to put a spoiler on and get my OEM alloy rims powder coated.

Rims will be OEM silver with gloss black on sides and between spokes and gloss black in center of rim where lug nuts go.

Spoiler will be OEM glass black.

Thinking about a black pen stripe on either side.

Here is a car that rather looks like what I have planned except I'm not going for aftermarket lights.

What do you think about the wheel and spoiler being gloss black?

Fist off, i am not import guy, or really a "car" guy at all. Being 6'-4" and 225lbs makes most cars uncomfortable. That being said, I quite appreciate tasteful mods to anything.

My ex-wife had a little Pontic G5 and I put some crimson it, tinted it out and de-badged the car.

It turned out kinda cool for a little puddle jumper.

I think the contrast between the two would look good.

I think it could look pretty sharp with darker window tint.

I would not put black rims like that on my car. I don't think they look "right" at all. If you must make sure they are a gloss black and wax them to keep the dirt and water spots off of them.
Here are some tastefull black rims-

Wow man, I think you have a point!

I didn't want all black rims, just a 2 tone effect but the powder coat guys aren't into it except for one and he wants a grand to do all 4 rims! So I may just go with silver for the rims anyway.

Your black spoiler looks great...

I may get some tinting too, good suggestion from that member above, thanks.

darker tint ( if aloud, other wise new...it will be more black in appearance)
delete the door moldings
wing needs to be body color
wheels can be black, but should be one color

no fart can.

Then you should try out an Accord like his. My nephew is about the same size as you, he really liked his. All kinds of leg room, headroom was ample also.

Ten Ring, I think All it needs is a deer in the trunk. Lol

Re: Opinions welcome. Putting a wing onto my car with pic.

A deer in the trunk would help for sure. LOL

I called the body shop Friday, he expects another week is needed but I told him to focus on doing it right and not rushing it.

After I get her back I have an oil change and tire rotation to do then decide just how to replace the brake and fuel lines. I might as well replace it all as one brake line is badly corroded.

I probably won't be able to POR 15 the underside what with temps dropping for winter. I have some surface rust there I didn't discover in time to fix last summer.

I've kinda decided to have that wing painted more of a "satin" or "carbon fiber" color to better match the black rocker panel cover. Still, she'll look a bit "teenager" with a different colored wing.

No plans for a louder exhaust....but window tinting might be nice.

Thanks for all replies.

Tape off the spokes and outer rim on those wheels and hit the inner parts with black plasti-dip and a gloss clear. 12 bucks. They look a little like a Jackman with no dish.

Re: Opinions welcome. Putting a wing onto my car with pic.

This year I've done 2 of these cars replacing fuel and brake lines. I use the flexible copper rolled up stuff and flare the ends for brake lines. Then use nylon for the fuel lines. If you gently warm them up with a heat gun then you can mold them to go around corners. Be careful to not bend too sharp or use too little heat, they will kink

Re: Opinions welcome. Putting a wing onto my car with pic.

Good news! Body shop delivered my car today....you can't tell there was ever rust there at all. The guy also buffed her and touched up most of the paint chips.

He didn't find any other rust and he came in $100.00 less than the estimate.

Next off is a tranny fluid change, the wheels, and getting the wing on. I will try to get pics.
