Bench Seat Options

I have a 69 Short Fleet missing the bench seat - I’d like to see some pictures of later seats and what they came from to help with decision about which one to use.

Re: Bench Seat Options

Here is mine. I just finished installing a couple of weeks ago. Have to figure out a good angle for the “in truck” pic. Brand new seat from shop4seats.com. Direct bolt in.

How do you like them so far Matt? Nice looking seats. Surprised you went with one color? Did you not want to do the insert a different color?

Is that black or charcoal?

Re: Bench Seat Options

The inside of my cab is blue. The 2 different blues they offered were not close and I didn't want a 3rd color. I am going with black and blue now for the interior. Leaving all the steel blue. Going to dye my vinyl door panels black, they are pretty whomped on anyways. need to get a new steering wheel so I figure, chrome or stainless with black grip.

Re: Bench Seat Options

Personally looking for a bench out of an early 90's truck - the backs are thinner so you can gain a little leg room.

Matt, seat looks great in your truck. How are they comfort wise? I am thinking about placing an order.

I used a bench seat out of a '93 Silverado, and cut the mounts to drop it two inches and angle it back slightly. I'm 6'6", so I need the clearance. It is really comfortable, and fits the truck very well.

Firm but comfortable. Reminds me of getting a new mattress.

Matt, would my truck have to be originally a bucket seat truck (floor) to have those seats in my 1969 C10? I like those seats and would likely get some if I can bolt on and go and not have to cut/weld in bucket seat floor to get the seats to install.

Re: Bench Seat Options

My truck was originally a bench seat truck. I replaced the factory bench seat with this one. It was direct bolt in as long as you order the proper bracket/adapters for your make model and series(years). The 3 seats bolt to the rectangular frame that bolts to the brackets that use 4 of your original 8 factory threaded holes in the cab floor.

Re: Bench Seat Options

I used a 2010 Silverado manual seat. it has storage under the center base, three cup holders, and the storage inside the center seat back. I did have to move the gas tank out of the cab. And you do sit higher. I'm 5'10" and don't hit the ceiling though.

They look great and fitment is spot on. Do you have a item number from the website? I would like to look at a set for my C30. Thanks

Re: Bench Seat Options

Mine are just sitting in the cab for now, plan to modify brackets, but the early 90's seat fits great. Lots of leg room. Picked it up on FB marketplace for $125.

No part number but the seat is: Cobra-Low Back 40-20-40 and the Adapter Bracket/ 67-72 Chevy -GMC. If you call them up they will send you a set of swatches so you can better match the colors. Check out their site though as they have a fair amount of seat styles.

Hey Matt, good looking seats. How is the seating position in comparison to the original bench? Higher? Lower? About the same?

Re: Bench Seat Options

My seat sits higher or maybe just firmer as the old bench seat was pretty worn out and broken down. But it feels good. Your seats look great. Nice color combo. Looks like they match your interior pretty well.

Did you order yours with the standard 4 spring or 7? I ask because I ordered the standard spring count, and feel that the seat height is just right.
