So I got booted from the FB group by name removed

Some admin with 0 posts here, and I made a comment "I'll see myself out" in response to a post... and the reply was that I was booted from the group. So first of all, how is this person administering that group without a real interest in this hobby and secondly why are they allowed to administer the group with such little regard for responsibility?

Because it's Fakebook. So you were put out because you indicated you didn't like a post in a decent manor? Not because you wigged out? Is that group even associated with this website? I know people who have been into these trucks since before the internet, even before many here were born, that don't fool with social media or forums. So, not posting here has no bearing on a person's experience or interest in these trucks. What I see is a person lacking in the maturity required to be an administrator which requires general objectivity and a separation from one's own personal views or feelings.

I probably wouldn't have called the person's name out here, but I know you are mad.

I called him out hoping that he'd have a "talking to" I guess... Some of the admins here are also admins there, so I assumed that it's associated I guess. Some Facebook groups are great though, there's a regional C10 group I'm part of with tons of interesting discussion and usually questions are answered in minutes which is pretty cool! Not a replacement for forums necessarily but the builds and perspectives seem unique.

Most of the Facebook sites for C/10's are mostly kids talking smack and people seeking guidance only to be steered wrong by the smack talkin' kids. A couple years ago I got booted off 2 or 3 in 2 days by the same admin after I politely corrected his incorrect information. About the same time I got the boot from another for correcting a for sale post, the seller told the buyer that a 14 bolt FF rear axle would bolt right in a 67 C/20. I got kicked out but the seller got to stay even after he stated that he knew it wouldn't fit but bought it unknowing and just wanted his $$ back. I am on C/10 Addiction Facebook and it's a good site.

I went on the FB 67-72 site, saw the immaturity and the worthlessness compared to here, felt like smacking a few punks, and walked away. I answered a WIW on a truck and the punk bashes me for posting a higher price than he wanted to hear. Computers need a "kick his ass" button if this is the communication of the future.

This is my main group, the discussions are really good/respectful with the occasional newbie -- but the members are quick to regulate the kinds of attitudes found acceptable which I think maintains the overall positive atmosphere there. There are about 10k members which is pretty impressive imo given that the global 67-72 group only have 43k.

Don't post you want to leave then whine about getting kicked out? I'd have booted you too.

I tried that with my dad when I was a kid. He would say "Do that one more time and this car is turning around." Guess what, I did it again and dad turned around and dropped me off at home. I never did that again.

Those that are quick to cut anyone off demonstrate an increasingly common level of immaturity. "You don't agree with me? BOOM! You are out of my life."
If done in person, such a personality would be completely isolated very quickly. In short, they can only act that way while hiding behind a computer screen.

If work in the psychology field was easy to find, I'd go to graduate school and write my thesis on this and other phenomenon we are seeing more and more of since the advent of "social media."

Facebook is not a friendly place: there is no customer service, no way to contact the company outside of being logged on, a former FB executive bragged about how "we built the site to exploit people," while another former executive stated "he would never allow his kids on the website." It constantly deletes posts from and blocks conservative members while encouraging the worst statements from progressives. It is linked to stress, bullying, depression, increased levels of narcissism, increased suicide rates, and it sells every bit of information anyone puts on there. The founder was sued and settled out of court for stealing the website idea from two friends in college. That founder also called early users "stupid bit**es" in a televised interview.

Now if that is the sort of website you want to spend your time on (and give your info to) then enjoy, if not, a discussion forum is a much better option, such as this one.

Years ago I recieved close to a 30 day ban here. I was acting like a major asshat. I was new to the internet, going through a divorce and drinking. Mostly taking out my frustrations on a few broadmemebers. 67chevyredneck was one of the fellas I aimed my jackassefy at. He'd never said an unkind thing to me. He is one of the fellas here that has a level head and I have lots of respect for.
