Ok, something hit me as I am getting this rad support set up, my trucks rad was moved forward and now I am getting memories of a short waterpump needed on the 235 to go in the earlier truck, is this right?

Can the later 235 go into my 48 (with a 50ish rad support) with the rad bolted into the stock location?

I have a '59 235 in my '47 second series. The water pump has a short shaft and modified pulley. The radiator is mounted forward. There is plenty of room between the fan and radiator. Enough room that I could probably use a stock water pump, or move the radiator back. You might want to get the engine in place before setting up the radiator support.

I need to nail this down because I want to mount my rad support once, but now I am seeing that may not be possible. It kills me because I forgot this and have a new pulley and pump, crap.

If I'm not mistaken, you need the correct crank pulley too. If you do a you tube search, you can find a guy that pressed the hub down on the water pump to make it into a short one.
