Ooooooooo, that smell

Can't ya smell that smell?

I didn't smell it for a few blocks. I made a left turn off my street on the way to work this morning, and there was no power steering. Heck, I figured the belt's probably slipping, it has before when things were cold, turn down the tunes. I didn't hear the tell tale squeak, then the power came back. Hmmm. Couple of blocks later, I smelled it... antifreeze. Drat! (had ya fooled, didn't I?) Pulled over and checked things out. My top hose sprung a leak and was pissing out antifreeze directly onto the water pump pulley, which dripped down on the crank pulley and transmitted it to the power steering belt, causing the "silent" slippage. Pretty good lubricant. Coulda been worse.

Time to change the hose. I'd like to reroute it so I can get some clearance over the threaded port in the intake manifold that the top hose now obstructs. Reason is, I want to relocate my temp sender to this port when I get the heater core repalced and hoses installed.

The top hose goes off at about a 45 degree angle from the axis of the motor, then to the top of the radiator. Can I get a pre-bent hose that's more of a Z shape rather than a _/ shape? I know I'll have to change the water neck.
