A Poll im one of the few,ive hyad both,now 2 leaf trucks and i prefer them,i think people become partial to what they have.

I am just curious as to why these 2 topics were merged, they are different aren't they? I was trying to get an idea what percentage of trucks came with leafs versus coils.

Well, what ever yu may call it, either the ultimate truck, or overgrown SUV...the hummer has coils at all 4 corners.
But you are right...the regular trucks have not returned to them.

I picked coils which I prefer over all but like leafs for haulin!

I have leaf springs on mine and for what I do hauling stone, dirt and wood they cant be beat. on the scales I have had 4100# of 2b gravel and it just set down on the helper spring. If I drove it every day and like 1/4 mile I would go with coil in a 1/2 ton.

If I wanted a smooth ride I'd buy an old Cadillac! Personally, I like to bounce around in an old pickup whenever I can. In case you haven't figured it out already, I'm a leaf man.

Leaf- better hauling.......Coil better ride
Leaf- cheaper lowering..Coil better ride after lowering (when done right)
Leaf-less parts to replace when rebuilding
Coil-Replace upper and lower spring mounts, springs, possible trailing arm rust (ask me how I know)
If money wasn't an object I say coil.....But since it is in my case I say leafs..........JMO......JB

Leafs-the stiffer the leaves the better i like a bouncy ride if i wanted something that rode smooth i would drive a car

Coils are for cars, or girly trucks

. They do ride nice, but add a bunch of weight on top and you will not enjoy the ride anymore.
Load my 1/2T C10 up with 1000lbs of steel and it just starts to ride nice

i love driving around with a load in my 1/2T coil rear. it makes it look lowered and it makes the ride smoother. now trying to brake with a load...........thats a different story.
