I'm a little late to this party. I put a sway bar on the front of my '71 and I really like what it did for the feel of the truck. It locked it down and gave the truck a more controlled, stable feel on road. As for the rear; are rear sway bars to control load sway? Im curious about this as I tow a lot and now I've got a flatbed planned for this spring which is going to add a lot of weight to an already 6,000lb rig.

Does any body have pictures of their rear swaybar setup; and from what application did they get the rear swaybar from?

Speedway Engineering 1" bar. I made up the mounting tube. Quite a bit of fiddle to get it to work, and the driveshaft would actually hit the mountin gtube at full compression..... You get the idea anyway!
Have added air bag assist as you can see. "Floating' Bottom mount.

"Floating" bottom mount? is that still PG rated?

That really looks like a system I could use. Air bagged and swaybar for load control.

Airbags are the limiting factor for travel now. Will see how it goes. One day!

is the bottom airbag bracket not hardmounted so it can travel with suspension articulation?

Bolted to the top mount. Bag sits on bottom mount in normal driving. Just lifts off in articulation.

oh, ya sure. you dont have any issue with it self aligning as the suspension articulates?

and tell me more about this crazy looking rear swaybar and the end links. is that a home jobber?

All sway bar components are Speedway Engineering parts http://www.1speedway.com/Swaybars.htm Well, bar, arms, and links. Mounting tube is just some 2" pipe and my lathe guy turned up some urethane bushs. Nothing too technical!
Oh, I had to move/cut down the bump stop mount. I may take it off completely. Truck still reeeally quiet, so it's all theory at this stage!

Interesting. I'll have to look into that. It looks like the end links could be either coupled or replaced with quick disconnects easy enough.

Do I see a couple of very large air tanks or propane? I like how you routed your brake lines.

Sway bar disconnects wouldn't be that hard, just need to keep the sway bar out of the way when disconnected!
Propane tanks. Tight squeeze. Not massive capacity, but should get me to town and back!

ya, maybe weld a couple heavy washers to the frame,or so, to clip the sway bar up and out of the way.

how far does a couple tanks like that get ya? haha, how far's town?

Yeah, something welded to the frame in the right place would be the trick.
Trucks still a work in progress, so no actual figures yet!

I have a 1970 k20 lifted 4" and want to add a front sway bar. does anyone make a direct bolt in kit? any help would be great.
