Rocker Panel alignment. Is this original?

I'm 90% sure the rockers on my '69 panel have never been replaced. The fitment at the rear of the rockers panels does not look great to me, both sides are the same. The front alignment and alignment to the door are great. Its just the rear of the rocker, is this how it was? Was is bottomed out?

The other half of it, with the rust pitting, should I just repair it? Or replace a part of the rocker(saw this on YouTube), or the whole rocker. I think I have pickup rockers, not sure if there is a difference.

I can confirm that the rockers on your panel are installed exactly the way GM installed them on every 1967-70 Panel truck & Suburban. They all are recessed exactly the same when compared to the rear panel. The same is true on all pickup cabs but the cab corners follow the contour of the rocker better on truck cabs. One of the easiest ways for us to spot rockers that have been replaced is 90% of the time the installer flushes the rockers to the cab corner on truck cab, where as every OEM installed rocker is actually inset about 1/8" further in than the body line on the cab corners.

Thanks Paul Jr, I don't know how I missed this reply.

I bought whole rockers, now that i know the misalignment is okay and not something tweaked I feel better about just patching where needed. It sounds like original 1/8" offset rocker is preferred over it being flushed, correct?

It's not just the older trucks with the rockers inset. My 2006 is the same way. I think GM did this to encourage rust, as gravel and road debris takes the paint off the front edge of the cab corners this way.
