Re: New Guy, Not So New Blazer

Thanks POS1. If you do order from TAG I would recommend allowing for plenty of lead time, and of course not getting the paint option.

Re: New Guy, Not So New Blazer

I agree, they are some cool looking bumpers. But dont you have to trim the front fenders to get them to fit? If so thats going to be hard to do after all the body and paint work. I couldnt hack into a nice paint job like that.

Ole Beater, I'm not aware of any cutting required. The bodyman has them and hasn't mentioned needing to cut to fit.

Re: New Guy, Not So New Blazer

I remember a post on here by someone who put them on and i think they had to cut their fenders. The picture on their website also looks like the fenders are cut at the bottom. Maybe they have redesigned them since. Either way the bumpers are the best looking design ive seen.

I emailed my bodyman, Hot Rod Worx, to ask him as well. I'll let you know what he says.

Re: New Guy, Not So New Blazer

Thanks Tom!

That was my first impression too, when I received other pictures from him. But no, it's not. I'll find out what it is when I go pick up the blazer. It's in Chewela, WA, so I'm guessing mine tailings or something...

Looks great. Wish mine was at that stage. Did you find anything out about the bumper?

As a matter of fact, I did Ole Beater. I was hoping to just be able to post a pix with the bumpers on the blazer, but you are correct. The bodyman said he will need to trim the front bumper, and the back bumper mounts will need to be shimmed. He said it looked like the back bumper was made for a universal, not specific to a '67-'72. He is working on the bumpers tomorrow (he's working seven days a week right now to finish my rig - have I said yet that I love my bodyman? ).

Here's another pix, just because...

Re: New Guy, Not So New Blazer

Nice, cant wait to see them mounted. Thats a lot simpler fix than trimming the fenders.

That's what my bodyman said too, Ole Beater...

And here are the much maligned and talked about bumpers finally on the blazer...

I have read about all the trouble it takes to get and mount the bumpers but they look great! Nice rig!

Re: New Guy, Not So New Blazer

Thank you Pife.

I've got two brothers that live in the St. Louis area; one in Lake St. Louis and the other out of town on the west side. Lived there myself for about five years working at the Weldon Springs (WSSRAP) environmental cleanup...

I moved here about 5 or 6 years ago. I am planning a move to Kentucky within the next year. If you are ever here to visit your brothers look me up we can have some beers!

And here it is with the soft top. It'll have the hard top as well, the soft top will just be insurance for getting caught out in the rain, as it'll be mostly topless...
