Doing a Duramax Swap, in need of your knowledge!

Ok Guys!

I'm currently deployed,(not to a warzone this time, thank god!) and doing some research in my spare time!

I have a build thread on here, but it's not up to date. Timing got frantic there near the end, and i didnt get pictures or update as often as i wanted to

I've spent the last three years doing an LLY Duramax Engine, Transmission, and Rearend swap on a 72 Longbed GMC. I got it driving FINALLY right before i left, and got to put about 50 miles or so on it. it's every bit as much fun as you think it is!

Right now, i have the 5 lug 2 inch drop spindles and springs from the 1/2 ton truck that i did the swap on. But, The rearend is 2005 8 lug.

I've found some stock 1972 8 lug spindles and springs on ebay. But, from what i'm reading, the 72 8 lug pattern in 8x5.5 and the 2005 pattern is 8x6.5, so even if i do swap to 1972 8 Lug, those don't match 2005 8 lug wheels. So even though i'll be 8 lug all around, i wont be able to get a matching set of wheels!

I need advice.

how on earth can i switch to 8 lug and get some matching wheels? My goal was to hunt me down some 2005 Stock Aluminum Wheels. I feel like those would look good enough, and be cheap enough on craigslist to get me by for a good little while. But, it seems that will be a problem.

Thank you in advance for your help!!

Nate

It'll be 8 on 6.5. My dad is building a single rear wheel C30 right now with a late model 14 bolt in the back and stock front hubs. it's all the same.

Gm pattern was 8 on 6.5 until 2011 it change to 8 on 180mm.
