Picked up a "mint" 69 blazer last night...

Well, kind of a mint green anyhow. It was dark and raining and I thought it was a little nicer than this. Wow is it rusty. Tailgate fell off when I opened it. The owner had it since 83 and parked it in 2000. Nothing special, but at least saved another one for the moment.

Thumbs up Re: Picked up a "mint" 69 blazer last night...

looks like the 72 i cut up last summer except yours is cherry compared to mine, lol. i had never seen a vehicle as rotted as mine was, the rad support bolts were the ONLY thing holding the body to the frame.

Re: Picked up a "mint" 69 blazer last night...

Sure was left original all that time. Would have been a nice surviving first year base Blazer example if it wasn't a great example of what rust can do!

I had one as bad or worse. One day I went where it was and it looked like someone had been looking at it and left he hood up. Nope, the skin had separated at the edges. The hood was still latched and the springs had pulled the skin apart from the lip all the way around

A little CLR and a buffer...

it looks very complete, too bad its so rusty. You don't see too many column shift 3 speed blazers.

Well I got it cranking over but no fire. I think about 10 pounds of rust fell off opening and closing doors and hoods...

Chevyland, you would be money ahead to just buy that one... That is a nice looking rig.

I like the rare gas turbine heater option on the hump for those cold northern climates.

Good to hear. Glad it will hopefully get saved.
We got about 5" of snow after you left, so you picked it up just in time.
