Anybody know what this is?

Still doing my rewire and learning a lot. Anyone know what this Black and Tan electrical piece is?

Weird. I don't have a TH400. I don't know ANY history on this truck really, but I'm surprised to hear that. I guess it does no good to have it there with a TH350?

I've never run across a kickdown switch but I'm guessing when you push the pedal to the floor this would downshift? Was this a standard feature with TH400?

Yep. Electrical rather than mechanical kickdown.

It was standard. Before 1971, the switch was different and carb mounted. For reference, this picture shows the pre-1971 switch, outlined in yellow, and the shoe/plate/actuator (not sure of what it's called) outlined in blue.
